Crib nook

Hello Wednesday! Today I’m all about sewing, for my shop but also for baby girl. I started a blanket for her this morning and I’m checking out cribs to go with it :) We have a little space problem here in the house that needs to be solved. We have 90m² but with only two bedrooms. The boys share one and we’re going to share ours with baby girl, here in the nook underneath the stairs that goes up to the mezzanine and Mathieu’s “man cave”. I’m not into co-sleeping in the same bed but I want her right next to me so I can hear her breath and not having to do much movements when breastfeeding. I have narrowed down the choice to these two:

The problem is that the space for a crib is like 2m² and if we get the first from Chicco I think the space is not occupied efficiently because you have to attach it to the bed and then you can’t access the space underneath the stairs. I’m thinking of getting the second from Ikea instead and then put it close to the bed at night and push it back in the morning. The Ikea one is not a perfect solution neither since you can’t “open” one side up but I feel like in the long run it’s a good crib (Viggo had almost the same) that can be used so much longer. I’ll just use the Moses basket I wanna get too, for the first weeks… Here’s some Pinterest inspiration for my crib nook.

Hello mercredi! Je suis en train de coudre, pour ma boutique mais aussi pour bébé fille. Je lui fais une couverture et en même temps je regarde des lits à barreaux. C’est pas evident d’en trouver, nous on a 90m² mais seulement 2 chambres donc elle va dormir avec nous, à coté de notre lit. Mais je ne veux pas bloquer l’espace sous l’escalier avec un lit comme celui de Chicco qu’il faut attacher au lit (mais j’adore le concept) mais si on prend un basic chez Ikea il faut le tirer chaque soir et matin pour faire de la place… Je veux l’avoir pres de moi pour l’entendre respirer et aussi ne pas trop bouger pour allaiter mais je ne suis pas pour le cododo dans le meme lit. On penche quand meme plus pour celui d’Ikea puis j’aurais un panier de Moise pour les premieres semaines… Je check partout sur Pinterest pour des idées pour des mini-solutions et je m’inspire, on verra bientôt le résultat!
