Gift wrapping + kids books

Hey ya!

Yesterday I spent the day wrapping Christmas gifts. Like the entire day. I love it so much so every year I carefully chose my wrapping paper, string and tags to go along. This year I feel all classic and childhood memory-ish so I went for that. I like to add a seal on all packages even if it’s a bit messy. Then I put on some Christmas songs, lights candles and start the wrapping!

Since my kids don’t read the blog :) I can reveal this year’s book choice. We try to read as often we can and with Gaétan starting to read himself we went for some small ones for him, some “Martine” (classic French figure) for both of them and then a really fun little series that we’ll read ‘alone’ one parent – one kiddo. When I saw them here in the French bookstore I got so happy that I yelled a joyous “Oh!” to Mathieu, so loud that people turned around wondering if I found the holy graal or something LOL But no, it’s just a children’s book series by two Swedes, a writer and an illustrator and they are fab! I’ve been wanting them for so long but was bothered by the fact they only existed in Swedish. I thought! Because no, they are translated and it makes me happy. For kids between 7-9, might be a bit early for Viggo but we’ll see!

Hello!

Hier j’ai passé la journée emballer les cadeaux de noël. Genre toute la journée. J’aime tellement ça et chaque année je choisi mes papiers, rubans et étiquettes avec soin pour que ça soit bien assorti. Cette année je voulais faire classique et j’ai même rajouté un sceau sur chaque paquet. Ensuite je met de la music de noël, j’allume les bougies et je commence l’emballage!

Comme mes enfants ne savent pas encore lire je peux vous dévoiler le choix des livres de ce noël. On essaye vraiment de lire tous les jours et avec Gaétan qui commence à lire tout seul on a pris des “minis” pour lui, quelques Martines (trop mignons) et puis un petit série de livres que j’aime particulièrement, à lire entre parent et kid en solo, ‘Leo & Maya, les petits detectives’. Ca fait longtemps que je les voulais mais je ne savais pas qu’ils étaient traduit en français. Alors quand je les ai vu dans le librairie j’ai poussé un petit cri à Mathieu, si fort que les gens se retournait et se demandait si j’avais trouvé le graal ou un truc important comme ça LOL mais non, c’est juste des livres pour enfants! Mais c’est juste que ça faisait tellement un plaisir de savoir que je peux les lire à mes enfants maintenant. Vraiment. Pour enfants entre 7-9, peut être un peu tot pour Viggo mais on verra!
